Welcome!
After a long hike up in the mountains, you get yourself settled and cosy on the terrace of a refuge for a well-deserved rest! Daylight gently sets on an amazing panoramic view overlooking a lake and a mountain range sprinkled with snow... Slightly interrupting your peace of mind, the guardian of the refuge then proposes a game of solitaire with two decks of 52 cards!
How to play Crescent Solitaire?
Crescent Solitaire (also known as « Refuge Solitaire ») is a single player online game involving 104 cards. The playing area is made up of three distinct areas: the tableau, the ascending foundations, and the descending foundations.
The tableau
The ascending foundations
The descending foundations
The goal of the game is simple: move all the cards onto the foundations! You can move cards of the same suit (hearts, spades, clubs or diamonds) from the tableau to the foundations, or from one pile of the tableau to another pile of the tableau.
On the ascending foundations, stack the cards in ascending order (Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King).
On the descending foundations, stack the cards in descending order (King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, Ace).
On the tableau, draw the cards that can be moved to the foundations. If you cannot move cards from the tableau to the foundations, you can move cards from one pile of the tableau to another as long as you respect the following rules: the cards must be of the same suit and must be one higher or lower in value. For example, you can put a 3 of hearts on a 2 of hearts or a 4 of hearts.
You can put an Ace on a 2 or on a King of the same suit
You can put a King on an Ace or on a Queen of the same suit
Time is limited: you must succeed in less than 20 minutes Hints: you have five hints to help you progress Shuffling of cards: if you cannot go, pick up the cards on the tableau (one to three times)
Some tips and tricks!
You can move cards from ascending foundations to descending foundations (and vice versa). This can help you unblock a card from the tableau. In the example below, moving the 8 of diamonds towards the descending foundations (on the 9 of diamonds), allows the 7 of diamonds to descend and frees a pile from the tableau...
Do not hesitate to lift (then release) the cards from the tableau to take a glimpse at the cards that are just below...
In the event of improper handling or if the last movement is inconclusive, use the « Undo » function to return to the previous state of play. Note: only the last action (actual movement of a card) can be undone...
You can move the cards from the board to the foundations by dragging and dropping or, more simply (and quickly), with just one click!
